Housing Advocacy
The Partnership believes that the shortage of affordable housing will never be effectively addressed without broad-based support from government and the community at large. We continually seek to build that support at the local, state and national levels:
- we raise public awareness of housing issues and the reasons for the housing affordability crisis, making it clear to Wisconsin residents that this crisis affects every one of our communities
- we build coalitions to advocate for more effective housing policy and programs
- we encourage local governments to become more active partners in affordable housing development and neighborhood revitalization
- through our membership in the Housing Partnership Network, we help create national initiatives to preserve affordable housing, expand home ownership and protect neighborhoods
All of our advocacy efforts carry the message that better, more affordable
housing is in everyone’s best interests. To make affordable housing
projects happen, many parts of the community must take part of the responsibility.
