New Ways of Thinking
The Partnership helps raise awareness of the affordable housing shortage, putting a face on housing need and demonstrating to Wisconsin residents and government officials that the continuing lack of affordable housing affects all of us.
A Partnership publication describes Wisconsin's housing crisis in non-numerical
terms and makes general proposals for action. In his regular newsletter column,
The Way It Looks to Me, our executive director addresses the affordable housing
community as a key catalyst for change in the ways affordable housing is produced
and paid for. These editorials frequently appear as guest columns in newspapers
throughout the state.
In addition, our work demonstrates how new ways of thinking can lead to effective ways of addressing the housing shortage. Our development projects, like The Uplands, show that mixed-income housing can be successful. As developers we also seek ways to make housing less expensive to build, operate and maintain.
In our and consulting work, we promote housing affordable to the full range of incomes in Wisconsin’s workforce, and we assist clients with alternative models for home ownership that will curtail rapid price increases.
