Homeless Technical Assistance
In late 2003, the Partnership received an award of HUD funds to support technical assistance to organizations involved in homelessness issues. Under this new contract we can provide full-service development consulting for the production of housing for homeless families and individuals. We can also consult on issues related to operating homeless assistance programs.
The Partnership's recent work on homelessness issues has included the following:
- guiding a Madison-based nonprofit through the development of a 9-unit apartment building for rental to homeless people with mental illnesses
- helping a community action agency evaluate sites for a development project
- working with a Neighborhood Housing Services agency to create a policies and procedures manual for an existing single-room occupancy (SRO) facility
- helping an Appleton-based nonprofit develop a risk assessment tool for use in a transitional housing program for homeless families
