Workforce Housing Initiatives

“Workforce housing” means housing for people who would like to live closer to their jobs but have trouble finding housing they can afford. Providing affordable housing options closer to jobs benefits employers, employees, local governments, taxpayers and the environment.

We need housing affordable to the whole range of incomes in Wisconsin’s workforce—people coming out of W-2, people who have been in the workforce longer but still can’t afford housing close to their jobs, people who work for the minimum wage, older adults, younger people, people who rent and people who can buy homes.

The Partnership is currently pursuing two workforce initiatives designed to:

The Capital Fund for Workforce Housing will help nonprofit housing developers in financing, developing and marketing workforce housing. Click here for more information.

The Workforce Housing Resource Center will assist both employees in need of affordable housing and employers who wish to help their employees secure affordable housing near their jobs. Click here for more information.
