Biennial Report for 2004-2005
The Partnership reached its 20th birthday during the 2004-2005 biennium. This report looks back on our past accomplishments and weighs the effects of five major environmental changes on our work moving forward.
Those five changes are the following:
- The growing unaffordability of housing not just for lower-income people but for the middle class
- The concept of workforce housing as a way of advocating for affordable housing
- The realization that home ownership at any cost does not make sense
- Increasing pressure on housing nonprofits to become more entrepreneurial
- A new definition of “advocacy” that includes changing the way people think about, produce and finance housing
