Board of Directors
Throughout its life the Wisconsin Partnership has been guided by a creative, supportive Board of Directors, whose membership has included all the groups of people who make affordable housing partnerships work. These are the current members of the Board of Directors:
Hal Bergan, Chair
Mr. Bergan joined the board in 2003. He is Administrator of the Unemployment Insurance Division of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. Previously he was Policy Director for Wisconsin Governors Anthony Earl, Martin Schreiber and Patrick Lucey.
Michael T. Crowley, Jr., Vice-Chair
Mr. Crowley has served on the board since 1993. He is Chairman, President (since 1983) and Chief Executive Officer (since 1985) of Bank Mutual, Milwaukee. He is a past Director and Vice Chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago.
Cory L. Nettles, Secretary/Treasurer
Mr. Nettles joined the board in 2005. He is a partner in the Corporate Services and Government Relations Groups of Quarles & Brady, LLP. He was formerly appointed by Governor Jim Doyle to serve as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, where his work included management of a $500 million venture capital initiative.
Anthony S. Earl
Mr. Earl joined the board in 2001. He is a retired partner in Quarles & Brady,
LLP, a law firm with more than 450 attorneys in offices throughout the United
States. Previously he was elected the 40th Governor of the State of Wisconsin,
and he served as secretary of the state Department of Natural Resources and
the state Department of Administration.
James T. Sykes
Mr. Sykes has served on the board since 1985. He is Senior Advisor for Aging
Policy in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the UW Medical
School. He is known internationally as an authority on aging issues, especially
as they relate to housing choices for seniors.
Rodney Tapp
Mr. Tapp joined the board in 2003. He is Vice President of Community Initiatives
at Meridian Group, Inc., where his work focuses on financial packaging,
housing management and community relations. He is a former member of the
Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago Affordable Housing Advisory Council.
Julia H. Taylor
Ms. Taylor joined the board in 2006. She is President of the Greater Milwaukee
Committee, a private-sector civic organization whose mission is to contribute
to the cultural and economic base of the Milwaukee Metropolitan area. Previously
she was Executive Director of the YWCA of Greater Milwaukee.
